Programs for Children

Mother Goose Playgroup

All programs are free; no advance sign-up is needed.

Mother Goose Lapsit and Playgroup

Mondays & Thursdays @ 10:30 am

Join us on the rug as Children's Librarian Miss Robin teaches nursery rhymes, finger rhymes, songs and stories using puppets, felt pieces, shakers, bells and scarves! Mother Goose on the Loose is a rhyme-filled program promoting early literacy in children from birth through 2 years old. Smaller children participate with accompanying grown-ups learning rhymes, songs and hearing stories. The program is followed by playtime allowing children and adults to interact with each other and the toys provided by the library.
This program is free with no advance sign-up required. Programs begin promptly at 10:30 and concludes in 20 to 25 minutes. After that families stay in the room to talk and play! (Same program is repeated on both days each week.)

Storytime and Playgroup

Wednesdays @ 10:30 am

Stories, new and old, rhymes, songs, movement and creativity including a simple craft or coloring sheet are all part of this program for kids and the grown-ups who bring them! Best for ages 3 to 6 but older and younger siblings are welcome. A different theme each week. After the 30 minute formal program, there is time for adults and kids to socialize and enjoy a snack in the room.

Lego Building

LEGO & DUPLO Building Time

Will resume in September

LEGO building bricks and DUPLOs are available for kids of all ages to build with and have fun. A different theme is offered each time. Builders informally share their creations at the end of the session. Children younger than 6 must have a caregiver in the room but older kids may build independently while parents are nearby.
