Computer Classes
Middleborough Public Library offers free computer classes on a regular basis from September to May. Classes are not available during the Summer months.
Information about classes is listed below. For a listing of classes currently being offered, please see the Library Calendar. Unless otherwise posted, no Registration is required for these free classes.
Introduction to Computers
- Coverage: This class provides an introduction to Personal Computers (PCs) including start-up and shut-down procedures, the operating system (Windows XP), terminology, hardware, software, basic maintenance and file management. A brief introduction to email and the internet is included.
- Prerequisite: No computer experience is required.
- Time: Six 1¼ hour classes
Introduction to Word Processing
- Coverage: This class focuses on using Microsoft Word 2003 to create simple documents. Topics covered include menu and toolbar commands, opening, saving, and managing documents, changing views, formatting, editing, and spell-checking text and inserting pictures and tables.
- Prerequisite: Good mouse and keyboard skills.
- Time: Four 1¼ hour sessions

Introduction to HTML and Web Page Design
- Coverage: Learn to create simple web pages using a text editor. Topics covered include formatting text and layout, creating simple lists and tables, and inserting hypertext links and images.
- Prerequisite: good mouse and keyboarding skills. Basic computer knowledge.
- Time: Four 1¼ hour sessions
