Mindfulness for Kids

Sheryl White brings her Mindfulness- Sensory Awareness through Engaging Activities program to the library for kids 3-6 years of age and their caregiver(s).  This class is designed to practice mindfulness with children while modeling how to be more aware and in the present moment.  Mindfulness can help children increase their attention span, focus and concentration, improve memory, better social functioning, self esteem, reduces stress, and can improve relationships with parents.  The class is designed to experience what mindfulness is and to show caregivers how to use it in their lives in a practical way.  In the class you will do simple and fun activities to encourage mindfulness and relaxation so that everyone can see it in action.  Sheryl brings a bag of props and you engage in sensory activities to learn how to be more mindful.   She has a kindness rock, puppets, chime bells, animal breathing exercises, friendly wishes heart bell and more.   Registration required - contact library.
