THE BASICS
At The Book Cellar, anyone can take a material at no cost. Monetary donations are encouraged but not required, and will be used to purchase new materials for the Library.
The Book Cellar is a community initiative of the Middleborough Public Library and its Trustees and has no affiliation with the Friends of the Middleboro Public Library, Inc.
GRAND OPENING
The Book Cellar will officially open on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 11 am EST.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The Book Cellar’s schedule will be:
- Tuesdays – 11 am to 3 pm
- Thursdays – 5 pm to 7 pm
- Saturdays – 11 am to 1 pm
If the Library is closed, the Book Cellar will also be closed.
MATERIAL DONATIONS
The Book Cellar will be accepting donations starting on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Items may be left on the table near or at the door of The Book Cellar.
Items must be in good condition (no mold/mildew spotting on the pages, no torn covers, and no stains). Nonfiction must have a copyright no older than 2019. Textbooks, magazines, encyclopedias, and VHS cassette tapes are not accepted.
VOLUNTEERS
Anyone interested in helping at The Book Cellar may submit a volunteer application. Prospective volunteers will need to pass a CORI satisfactorily.
Volunteer tasks include accepting new donations, adding them to the shelves, and assisting visitors in locating the materials they need.
