Mass Capoeira Culture Center Demonstration at Town Hall

Join us for a demonstration from the Mass Capoeria Culture Center on the Town Hall lawn on Tuesday, July 25th at 6 p.m.

From the Mass Capoeria Culture Center:

Capoeira is a rich cultural tradition that incorporates elements of martial arts, dance, music, and language. Initially developed as a form of resistance by enslaved peoples in colonial-era Brazil, today capoeira is one of the most widely recognized symbols of Brazilian heritage and identity, and is a main vehicle for the dissemination of Brazilian culture and Portuguese language around the world.

This interactive demonstration will showcase the music, instruments, and movements of capoeira.  All ages are welcome at this event.  Bring a blanket or seats.  In the event of inclement weather, the program will move indoors to the Town Hall ballroom.

This program is generously supported by the Wilfred M. Silvia Library Trust.
