Read to Feed
Read to reduce food insecurity for families and to support local farms as part as part of our summer reading theme which is all about nourishing the mind and body and exploring the connection between food, family, culture, and ecology.
Read 9,000 Hours to Raise $500

The Rotary Club of Middleboro/Lakeville will donate up to $500 to Elliot Farm’s “Nourish Our Neighbors” program which provides free farm shares to local families experiencing food insecurity. Every hour you read will help fight hunger and feed our community! Help us to reach our reading goal of 9,000 hours (540,000 minutes) between the children's and teen programs to raise the full $500 towards funding a farm share.

Nourish Our Neighbors is a program to provide local families with free farm shares — delivering fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, eggs, and baked goods directly from local farms to those who need it most. "Your gift helps a neighbor stock their fridge, cook nutritious meals, and feel supported during challenging times. Nourish Our Neighbors is built on the belief that access to healthy food should never depend on income."
Beanstack Tracker Mobile App and Family Accounts make it easier than ever to participate.
Download the app for FREE from your device's app store:
Android or iOs. Please note that the app does not currently allow you to post picture reviews or upload activity photos—you'll need to do that through the website.
Don't have internet access? Stop in the Children's room to use the Summer Reading computer located at the end of the desk.
What counts as reading? Being read to, reading to someone, reading to yourself, audiobooks, podcasts, magazines, ebooks, graphic novels, and books from home. As long as you are enjoying stories it counts!
