Want a different way to do summer reading? Read and play your way to the Ender Dragon (12 hours of reading) using the Teen Level Up Game Board. Teens can log time and activities in Beanstack as they go for a chance to win prizes.

Students attending Middleborough High School in the Fall are asked to read one book from the MHS Summer Reading List and be ready for a related assessment in the first week of class.
Nichols Middle School students are encouraged to participate in the Library's summer reading program. Need reading suggestions? Find recommendations on our What to Read Next teen page or under the Recommendations tab in your Beanstack account.

Read to Feed
Read to alleviate hunger and food insecurity for families and to support local farms as part as part of our summer reading theme which is all nourishing the mind and body and exploring the connection between food, family, culture, and ecology.
The Rotary Club of Middleboro will donate up to $500 to Elliot Farm’s “Nourish Our Neighbors” program which provides free farm shares to local families experiencing food insecurity. Every hour you read will help fight hunger and feed our community! Help us to reach our reading goal of 9,000 hours (540,000 minutes) between the children's and teen programs to raise the full $500 towards funding a farm share.

Nourish Our Neighbors is a program to provide local families with free farm shares — delivering fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, eggs, and baked goods directly from local farms to those who need it most. Each donation directly supports a family in our community. Your gift helps a neighbor stock their fridge, cook nutritious meals, and feel supported during challenging times. Nourish Our Neighbors is built on the belief that access to healthy food should never depend on income.

Pick up your seeds and free book!
When you register for the teen program, you'll receive sunflower seeds, courtesy of the Soule Homestead, and a free book to help you get reading. In addition to reading, you can complete mental, physical and creative activities to earn virtual Activity Badges. Activities range from conservation and crafting to outdoor adventure and getting active.
